This policy explains what personal information Local Empires collects, how we use it, who we share it with and what rights you have. We wrote it in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, write to us at [email protected].
Our website is available in English and Spanish, but this policy is only available in English. If you’d like us to explain any part of it in Spanish, write to us.

1. Who we are and what this policy covers
- Local Empires (“we”, “us”) is a website design and hosting service for businesses.
- This policy covers our website localempires.com, our services (websites, hosting, email, Google Maps optimization, blog posts and booking app) and our communications with you by email, phone, WhatsApp and text message.
- It doesn’t cover the websites we build for our clients. Each client is responsible for the privacy of its own website visitors (see section 7).
2. Information we collect
Information you give us:
- Contact details: name, business name, email, phone number and address.
- Business information: services, hours, prices, photos, logo, license numbers and anything else you send us to build your site or your Google Maps listing.
- Payment information: billing name, billing address and payment status. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- Messages: what you tell us by email, WhatsApp, text message, phone, the contact form or the client area, including change requests.
- Account access: when you invite us as managers of your Google Maps listing or give us access to your domain, we can see the information in those accounts that’s needed to do the work.
Information we collect automatically when you visit our website:
- Device and usage data: IP address, approximate location (city or region), browser, device type, pages visited, links clicked, time on each page and the site that referred you.
- This pre-launch website does not use analytics, tracking pixels or session recording. It does not have a contact or demo submission form.
Information we get from other sources:
- Public business information: before contacting a business, we may look at its public Google Maps listing, website and reviews, for example to prepare a free draft or a free review of its listing.
- Service providers: confirmation of payments from Stripe, and delivery information from our email and messaging providers.
We don’t ask for sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, health data or precise geolocation. Please don’t send it to us.
3. How we use it
- To provide the service: build, publish, host and maintain your website, email and Google Maps listing, and handle your change requests.
- To bill you: process payments, send receipts and manage your subscription.
- To communicate with you: answer your questions, send service notices (price changes, renewal reminders, outages) and, if you agree, news and offers. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in each email, and from marketing texts by replying STOP.
- To contact businesses: we may contact businesses using their public business contact details to offer our services. If you ask us not to contact you again, we won’t.
- To improve our website and services using feedback you choose to provide.
- To keep things secure: prevent fraud, spam and abuse.
- To comply with the law: taxes, accounting and legal requests.
4. Artificial intelligence tools
- We use AI tools to help draft text for websites, blog posts and Google Maps posts, and to edit photos. To do that, we send those tools the business information needed for the task (for example, your services and area). We don’t send them your payment information.
- We use AI providers that, under their terms for business customers, don’t use our data to train their models.
- A person on our team always reviews what an AI tool produces before it’s published.
5. Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We share it only with the service providers we need to run the service, who can use it only to work for us:
- Hosting and cloud providers (for our website and our clients’ websites).
- Domain registrars (domain registrations require the registrant’s contact details).
- Email providers.
- Our payment processor, Stripe.
- Messaging and phone providers, including WhatsApp (Meta) and text message providers.
- No analytics providers are enabled on this pre-launch website.
- AI providers (see section 4).
- Professional advisors such as accountants and lawyers.
We may also share information:
- If the law requires it, or to respond to a valid legal request.
- To protect our rights, our clients or other people from fraud or harm.
- If our business is sold or merged, with the buyer, who must respect this policy. We’ll let you know.
- With your permission.
6. Browser storage and analytics
- This pre-launch website does not use analytics cookies, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Microsoft Clarity, session recording or advertising pixels.
- If you choose English or Spanish, we save only that preference in your browser’s local storage under
localempires-language. It is not sent to us. You can clear it through your browser settings or change it using the language selector. - Your first visit to the neutral home page uses your browser language to choose Spanish or English. Explicit language links work without JavaScript.
- We do not sell or share information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Analytics and recording remain disabled, including when your browser sends Global Privacy Control (GPC).
- Before enabling analytics or other tracking, we will review provider settings, update this policy and implement any required consent controls.
7. Data from visitors to our clients’ websites
- When someone fills out the contact or booking form on a website we built, the message goes to the client’s email. For that data, we act as the client’s service provider: we only process it to run the site, we don’t use it for our own purposes and we don’t sell it.
- If you visited one of our clients’ websites and want to exercise your privacy rights, contact that business directly. If you write to us, we’ll forward your request to them.
8. How long we keep it
- Client information: while your subscription is active, plus 60 days after you cancel (the hold period in our Terms of Service), after which we delete your site and content.
- Billing records: as long as tax and accounting laws require, usually up to 7 years.
- Messages: up to 3 years after our last contact, unless we need them longer for a dispute.
- Information about businesses we contacted that didn’t become clients: up to 12 months after our last contact. If you ask us not to contact you again, we keep only your business name and phone number or email on a do-not-contact list, so we don’t contact you by mistake.
- This pre-launch website collects no analytics data or session recordings. Your language preference stays in your browser until you clear it.
9. Security
- We use reasonable measures to protect your information: encrypted connections (SSL), limited access to our team members who need it, two-factor authentication on our key accounts and regular backups.
- No system is 100% secure. If there’s a security breach that affects your personal information, we’ll notify you and the authorities as required by the laws of your state.
- Keep the passwords we give you safe, and let us know right away if you think someone accessed your accounts.
10. Your privacy rights
Several US states, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas and Oregon, give their residents specific rights over their personal information. Whether or not your state’s law applies to us, we honor these requests from any US resident:
- Know and access: ask what personal information we have about you, where we got it, why we use it and who we share it with, and get a copy in a portable format.
- Correct: ask us to fix inaccurate information.
- Delete: ask us to delete your information, except what we have to keep by law (for example, billing records) or to complete a service you requested.
- Opt out: of any sale or sharing of your information, targeted advertising or profiling. We don’t do any of these, but you can still ask and we’ll record your choice.
- Limit the use of sensitive information: we don’t collect it.
How to make a request:
- Write to [email protected] with the subject “Privacy request”, or tell us by WhatsApp or text message.
- We’ll confirm we got your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time (up to 45 more days), we’ll tell you why.
- To protect your information, we verify your identity by matching details we already have (for example, your email or phone number). We won’t ask for more than we need.
- You can use an authorized agent. We’ll ask for proof that you gave them permission, and we may ask you to confirm your identity directly with us.
- Appeals: if we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with the word “Appeal”. We’ll respond within 45 days (60 days in Colorado). If you’re not satisfied, you can contact your state’s Attorney General.
- We won’t treat you differently, charge you a different price or give you a worse service for exercising your rights.
California residents:
- In the last 12 months, we collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address), commercial information (services purchased, payment status), internet activity and approximate geolocation (where collected by service providers; no analytics or session recording is enabled on this pre-launch website), professional information (business details and license numbers) and inferences we make to improve our website. Sources, purposes and recipients are described in sections 2, 3 and 5.
- We didn’t sell or share personal information, and we don’t knowingly sell or share the information of people under 16.
- Under California’s “Shine the Light” law, you can ask whether we disclosed your personal information to third parties for their direct marketing. We don’t.
Nevada residents: we don’t sell personal information as defined by Nevada law. You can still send an opt-out request to [email protected].
11. Children
Our services are for businesses and aren’t directed to children. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child sent us their information, write to us and we’ll delete it.
12. Where your data is processed
Part of our team works from Argentina, and our service providers may also process information in other countries. That means your information may be accessed from or stored outside the United States. When that happens, we protect it with the same measures described in this policy.
13. Text messages
- If you give us your mobile number, we send you text messages about your service (for example, account notices, receipts and change confirmations). We only send marketing texts if you agree to them separately, and that consent is never a condition of buying.
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help.
- We don’t share your mobile number or your text messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. The text message providers we use only process them to deliver our messages.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We’ll change the “Last updated” date and, if the changes are important, we’ll let our clients know by email at least 30 days before they take effect. We won’t use the information we already have in a materially different way without your consent.
15. Contact
